Meet the Business Chicks team

Emma’s our CEO and fearless leader. She’s the one who interrupts us with all the big ideas and is the best boss in the world (and no, we weren’t paid to say that). She’s mum to two (very soon to be three) gorgeous girls and is into property investment as well. She has a wacky talent for catching food in her mouth (she never misses with Maltesers), can do the splits and is really good at jigsaw puzzles. Ever competitive, she won Most Valuable Player in our corporate netball comp last season and when you meet her, she’ll instantly make you feel special, loved and appreciated.

Business Chicks means to Emma … “It's my life! It's been my MBA too - to meet the people I have and to have had the conversations I've had is an immeasurable blessing and a gift I don't take lightly. I want everyone to get a bit of this magic - we're building it so we can share it with the world. Through Business Chicks I've learned about my responsibility on this planet; I've developed life long friendships; I've made invaluable contacts that have offered me opportunities I would never have been able to access before and I've been lifted up time and time again and shown what's possible when we believe it to be so.” 

Sam is our Operations Manager – she’s the one we nag about IT problems, be really nice to so she approves our leave and can go to with any question. She also oversees all the financials within the business. Sam may be the nicest person you’ll ever meet; she’s a bubble of good energy at HQ! She can’t swim, excelled at high school drama and loves nothing more than curling up with UK Vogue. If she had one wish she’d take a year off and travel to India to explore her roots and volunteer in the orphanage where her dad was raised.

Business Chicks means to Sam … so much more than I could ever have imagined. Business Chicks is a place where you can truly be yourself; it's a place where anything is possible.

Zoe is our Senior Manager - Partnerships and the least salesey sales person you’ll ever meet. She’s known for saying really funny things – she often features in ‘Happenings at HQ’ with the quote of the week. She's an excitable quilter, once recorded a demo tape and her guilty pleasure is watching bad ‘dramality’. If she had one wish, she’d win the lottery and use her winnings to look after her family and set them up for life.

Business Chicks means to Zoe … Walking into Business Chicks every day is strangely comparable to my wonderful childhood memories.  My job itself is incredibly rewarding, I get to make meaningful relationships with our current and new partners and talk (every day) about a product I am excited about and really believe in!  Business Chicks is (like me) forever growing and one-upping itself, and the promise of such a dazzling future, full of goals fought-for and achieved, is just so exciting.  The fact that we are working towards something that is so incredibly important; empowering women and tackling (head-on) the things that might have held us back, is what gets me up every morning. Being around this team plus all our members is inspiring and like a big warm hug. I now don't go a day without learning something (and laughing a lot) and for this I am so grateful.

Joven is our CFO and the sole ‘Business Bloke’ on our team (brave huh!). He’s Dad to insanely cute Marcus and is the coolest accountant we know. He’s in charge of the money and if he were granted one wish, he’d rid the world of wait times. (He spends a lot of time listening to the ATO’s hold music ….)

Business Chicks means to Joven … The epitome of the ideal workplace 

Britt is our CEO Emma’s right hand woman and she’s got the toughest job around. She’s responsible for keeping Emma sane (no mean feat), and has mastered the ‘walk and talk’ which is where you basically need to walk alongside Em and ask what you need from her while she’s on the go. Britt’s also a closet writer; she’s the voice behind our weekly wrap up ‘Happenings at HQ’ and is often on Twitter and Facebook. A crazed NRL fan, she has a double degree in law and media. She HATES people touching her elbows and knees and is one of those awkward huggers who kind of pat you - we still love her though!

Business Chicks means to Britt … I'm not even sure I can put into words what Business Chicks means to me. I get to come to work every day with the most beautiful group of people, who believe in an incredible thing - supporting and uplifting women to help them realise that they can give anything a go. We unleash potential every day and that's amazing to witness. Since working at Business Chicks, I've realised that the possibilities of what I can do are endless. I'm not bound by anyone's ideas and opinions on what I can do with my life - or what's 'right' for me to do.  I have access to help, resources, support and encouragement that I've never had before.

Bec is our Marketing and Content Coordinator and the associate publisher of our magazine Latte. She’s the voice of Business Chicks and crafts all the communication that comes from us. If you ever wondered who you’re talking to on Business Chicks social media, it’s probably Bec! She’s a big reader with a big heart – and loves nothing more than reading stories about people who’ve made a difference. She used to teach hip-hop and street funk and her rocky road is famous at Business Chicks HQ.

Business Chicks means to Bec … So much! It’s an indescribable energy that just sucks you in. It’s refreshing to be in an environment that is not competitive; but instead encourages and facilitates sharing, learning and the bettering of each other.

Bec is our Events Manager at Business Chicks. She’s got Ita Buttrose, Sir Bob Geldof and Sir Richard Branson on speed dial. You’ll find her at all our events, cool, calm, collected and in control. She’s jumped out of a plane, loves anything chocolate and if she had one wish she’d head overseas for a year or two, but the closest we’ve got is giving her 10 weeks annual leave this year to travel to Europe.

Business Chicks means to Bec …A place where anything is possible, and potential is limitless. It's an energy you can't bottle and you can't quite describe because it's unpredictable and unrelentless. Business Chicks is the loving and supporting cheer squad that's always right behind me, it's that thing always pushing me to play a bigger game and inspiring me to make a difference in the world. It's about making people feel special, being present and believing that anything is possible. Whether I'm here at the office surrounded by our incredible team, or in a room with hundreds (or thousands!) of Business Chicks having brekky or lunch - I'm right at home, and I feel so blessed to be along for the ride.

Sarah’s our Events and Membership Coordinator. She’s the gorgeous, friendly voice you’ll find at the other end of the phone if you ring HQ. You’ll also find her at our events around the country managing our awesome crew and making sure each event goes off without a hitch! She’s easily mistaken for a supermodel, has climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, won most valuable player in our netball comp and loves cheese twisties dipped in melted mars bar. If she had one wish she’d spend six months working in a Peruvian orphanage.

Business Chicks means to Sarah … A feeling of excitement, of possibility and encouragement. It is an energy that engulfs you that you never want to lose!

A place where anything is possible, and a place where I can be myself. It' an energy you can't bottle, a support network that's always behind me, the net that is there to break my fall, it's unpreditable and unrelentless. It's that thing always pushing you to keep going, to think bigger. A hunger for learning, and expanding, but most of all, it's a realisation that you choose every day who you want to be (and how you want to make people feel) and going to extra mile to be it

Becky is our Events and Membership Assistant and the third Bec to join our team. She started out as an intern and we loved her so much we couldn’t let her go. Becky has the most important job at Business Chicks – she’s responsible for making our members feel loved. Her role is also the most fun as she gets to spend her days talking to the awesome people (that’s you!) that support our work here at Business Chicks. She hates bananas and you won’t believe us, but she can actually lick her elbow (get in touch for photo proof).

Business Chicks means to Becky … Business Chicks means family to me. I've never felt so comfortable so quickly at a job than what I have at Business Chicks. And I can just be myself without feeling or worrying about what my colleagues think. Most of the time, at least one of the girls will have the same thing in common and I feel like I’ve just fallen into my second family.

Carlie's our Account Coordinator and the one responsible for looking after our family of incredible partners - we call her our 'love giver'. She's a closet crazy cat lady and treats her two cats like her children, loves T2's Licorice Legs tea and secrectly wants a snuggie (we're keeping it in mind for her next birthday).

Business Chicks means to Carlie ... From the first moment I encountered Business Chicks I knew I was experiencing something special. To me Business Chicks is a place that allows women to bring out the best in others and out of themselves. It is an energy which is infectious, inspiring and uplifting - it feeds the soul, heart and mind! It allows you to explore, discover, develop, improve - and grow into the best person you can be.
