Introducing Briony as our member of the week! Briony Kennedy is the CEO of Adorn Mineral Cosmetics

Name: Briony Kennedy
State:
Victoria
Job title:
CEO
Company:
Adorn Mineral Cosmetics

Describe your typical day…Depending on when my 3yr old identical boys jump into bed with me…my start to the day is a mayhem of cartoon noise, hot milos, runs to the toilet (in middle of toilet training), convincing the boys to get dressed, feeding animals, running up and down the stairs to check my cherubs are not dying the cats hair and in between checking and responding to emails, I have a very rushed and chaotic attempt to look somewhat presentable so I can face the world of cosmetics!  Thank god Adorn make-up is so quick to apply! Then off to the office. I am usually faced with back to back meetings & phone calls – nothing out of the unusual there.

When was the last time you felt inspired? I spent an evening with a dear friend who is also in the cosmetics industry and we had a business brainstorming session over a lovely glass of wine!  Friendships and networking are paramount to any business’s success!  It keeps you fresh and on top of your goals.

What’s next on your Bucket List and why? Nothing earth shattering, but I think the most important of all - meditation and more time for health and wellbeing.

Tell us something about you that may surprise people? I use to have a business when I was 11 called Briony’s Bunny Business.  I had 2 bird aviaries, 3 guinea pig hutches, 1 large fish tank, 2 mouse cages, a dog, cat and a turtle.  An animal lover to say the least! God knows how I convinced my mum to let me have a backyard full of animals. I kept a profit and loss book taught to me by my primary school teacher, Ron Kennett – Jeff Kennett’s brother, (which I still have to this day). I bred and sold the animals as well as food. I even sold animals to my friends whom were not allowed to own one and then charged them rent for keeping them at my house! Oh my - guess I was destined to be in business hey!

What’s your top tip for success?  Do something you love and money will follow. Listen to your gut instinct because it is always right!

What would you like to get from your Business Chicks experience?  Inspiration from those I aspire to be like and to meet women that are like-minded.
