"The best experience with Business Chicks has to be without a doubt the inspiring talk in Sydney in early 2011 by Professor Fiona Wood. Fiona inspired me to make a decision on a very personal level. Being in my early 40's with 2 school aged children and having spent a lot of time in the past decades dedicating myself to my career I was at a place of comfort, but also there was a niggle at the back of my mind that I had not finished with child bearing as yet. Everyone told me what wasn't right about having another child, and that we would be completely nuts to consider it. It took Fiona’s inspiring story of rearing 6 children, being completely open and honest with all those around her on how it could be done (not how it couldn't) and continuing with her career, as the impetus to say I CAN do this and I'll give it a go. One month later (how blessed given my age) we were pregnant with our third child. Due November 2011, I'll take 6 months off work again and we will manage - because we always have.
